34X22
34x22 is a site-specific installation defined by its physical canvas: a precise grid of 748 rectangular metal plates. The work explores the relationship between rigid industrial structures and the fluidity of digital light. By projecting onto this segmented geometry, the piece questions how we perceive volume and continuity when an image is shattered across hundreds of individual modules.
The installation utilizes the 34x22 matrix to experiment with shifting perspectives. Through 3D animation and generative sequences, the metallic surface becomes a playground for light, alternating between highlighting the individual plates and creating unified, sweeping movements. This interplay creates a constant tension between the cold, static metal and the kinetic energy of the projections.
Reinforced by a percussive soundscape that mirrors the mechanical rhythm of the grid, the work leverages the reflective properties of the metal to create a high-contrast environment. “34x22” invites the viewer to reconsider industrial materials, showing how a rigid system can be redefined through a precise language of tension, shadow, and geometry.
