874 is a site-specific audiovisual intervention on a parking ventilation shaft at Nouveau Siècle in Lille. Projection mapping is normally granted to monuments, where the surface already commands attention and the work only has to intensify it. This structure commands nothing: service infrastructure, poured concrete, built to be passed rather than looked at, carrying no commemorative claim for the work to inherit.

The mapping is registered to the shaft's curve and its horizontal banding, so the geometry that made the object unreadable becomes the thing being read. Colour arrives at architectural scale rather than as ornament applied to it, and the audience stands inside the light rather than before it. The proposition is not that the structure was secretly worth looking at, but that attention is a condition which can be directed at anything, and that once directed it does not entirely switch off.
