DESCRIPTION
The Stream is a site-specific artwork that dissects the theme of engaging with the increasing advancement of data and technology and questions how these systems are transforming our surroundings. By taking the physicality and practical function of the water tower as an inspiration, it symbolizes the flow of ideas, stories and influences, growing porous to the surrounding environment, much like the water tower itself. It blurs the lines between digital and physical spaces, seamlessly translating one into the other, creating a grounding
environment in which the viewer encounters a variety of options to examine the boundaries of the organic and synesthetic.
The vast amounts of data we are exposed to often exist as disparate sources of information which, sometimes absurdly, do not intersect. The way to uncover a meaningful, emotional, or factual component is to put them in a broader perspective and internalize them. Such is the case with The Stream, which takes the foundational, architectural elements of the water tower as modules for multiple parallel narratives that arrive at a harmonious, mutual conclusion, utilizing unpredictable and exciting generative visuals and sound fragments as compositional building blocks for a cutting-edge audiovisual experience.
